Oriental Beef Stew

For me, nothing beats the taste of a good beef stew specially during winter or rainy seasons. Making the beef tender means more flavor in the soup, that is why I always see to it that when I make beef stew the meat is really tender so that you can enjoy it and not feeling like you are chewing a gum :D. This is my Oriental style of beef stew.

Ingredients:
1/2 kilo beef
1/2 kilo bok choy or petsay
3 big potatoes
2 yellow corn
1 onion
1 teaspoon black pepper corn ( pamintang buo)
4 tablespoons soy sauce
salt to taste

Procedure:
1. In a pot put the beef, black pepper, onion and soy sauce then bring to boil, make sure that the water is enough to cook the beef until tender.
2. When the beef is tender add the potatoes and corn, simmer until done.
3. Then add the petsay and simmer for 2 minutes, add salt to taste. Turn off the heat.
4. Serve it hot. You can put some spring onion to garnish it.

Miki Gisado

Mmmmmmm just like pansit canton this is also delicious and one of my favorite pansit dishes. Easy to cook noodles and goes well with chicken, pork, beef and seafood. When I cooked this one I only have few ingredients because I do not have a plan to cook it, so its just random and I just used what is available in the refrigerator that I can put in miki. So here is my simple dish of gisadong pansit miki.

200 grams miki noodles
200 grams pork
1/4 cup soy sauce
3 cloves garlic
1/2 cup sliced parsley
1/2 cup water
1 onion
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
salt to taste

Procedure:
1. Saute the garlic and onion.
2. Add the pork and saute until brownish then add the soy sauce, salt and pepper.
3.  Add the water and let it boil then let it simmer for 2 minutes then add the miki noodle.
4. Stir very well to blend with the soy sauce and pork flavor.
5. Turn off the heat when it is cooked and serve it hot.

Daing na Tamban

Simply delicious! Daing is one of the popular Filipino fish recipe using milk fish (bangus) but sad to say here in my place there is no milk fish so I just used Tamban. Anyway it is still yummy. :-)

Ingredients:
10 pieces fresh sardines fish ( Tamban)
1 lime ( can be substituted with vinegar)
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper
salt to taste
3 cloves garlic ( crushed)

Procedure:
1. Slice the fish in the belly making like in the picture below. Then remove the bones.

2. After removing the bones, flatten it and put the rest of the ingredients to marinate the fish. It is better to marinate it overnight so that the fish can soak the marinating flavor for extra yummy taste.

3. Fried the fish until golden brown and serve it hot.
